Audi A7 Information and Reviews

Posted By admin on February 24, 2010

Audi A7

The Audi A6 has been one of the most popular models in this German carmaker’s history, and now Audi is reportedly considering a new 4-door coupe created for sedan drivers seeking racier lines and more seductive styling. Based on the A6 platform, the Audi A7 is slated to arrive in a showroom some time in 2010.

A different look: The Audi A7

Sources say the A7 has been designed to compete with such vehicles as the Mercedes-Benz CLS, which re-envisioned the more staid-looking E-class exterior to achieve a much sexier look. According to reports, the A7 coupe differs from the A6 in the following ways:

  • The A7 coupe has a lower roofline and wider fenders, giving it a more aggressive stance than the S6 sedan.
  • Frameless doors and a glass roof give the impression of an airy, spacious cabin.
  • Larger tires and unique alloy wheels will also distinguish the A7 from its more conservative sibling.

Powertrain choices for the A7 stress Audi’s focus on high performance. The A7 is expected to offer as many as six different engines worldwide, including V-6 and V-8 designs. Choices will likely include both gasoline and diesel versions of the A7 coupe as well. The top-of-the-line version might use the same powerful Lamborghini V-10 that is currently being used in the Gallardo supercar.

There is also speculation that the current Mercedes CLS and the forthcoming Audi A7 4-door coupes have prompted several other manufacturers, such as Jaguar and Volkswagen, to come up with similar designs.
